It featured a three-speed manual transmission, with an optional four-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission.

Saw this 1971 Dodge Challenger in Las Vegas and came across this fast looking 1971 Dodge Challenger and just had to take a video of it. It had a big Hemi engine.

2. 1972
For the 1973 model year, Dodge gave the Challenger a restyled front end and updated interior. The exterior featured a bolder grille and larger tail lights. Inside, the seats were redesigned and the instrument panel received a new design.
3. 1974
In 1974, Dodge brought out the Hemi version of the Challenger. The Hemi engine was rated at 305 horsepower and came standard on the R/T models.
4. 1975
In 1975, Dodge offered the Challenger Convertible. The convertible was only available with the 440 engine and manual transmission.
5. 1976
In 1976, Dodge brought out the 426 HEMI Challenger. This model was only available with the 426 HEMI engine and automatic transmission.
6. 1977
In 1977, Dodge brought out the Charger. The Charger was based on the same platform as the Challenger and used the same engines. However, the Charger was smaller and lighter than the Challenger.
